Mt. Takao
Mt. Takao is in the Western Tama Region which is pretty much the West Side of Tokyo. It is on the Eastern side of the Kanto Mountains though. The mountain is 1.965 feet high and has almost 500 different exotic plants and animals. For example, Mt. Takao is home to the Japanese Raccoon and the Flying Squirrel. It also is home to Jaybirds and Brown Headed Thrush. Plants like the Sumire, Maple, and Buna which are Japanese Beech trees thrive on Mt. Takao. Parts of the mountain are full of lush green vegetation like sumire flowers and maple trees. Mt. Takao is in the Meiji no Mori Takao Quasi-National Park which is 50 km away from Tokyo.
